Willaston Parish Council owns and manages the playing field. The playing field was opened on 29th May 1954 by England and Manchester City goalkeeper Frank Swift and Rose Queen Dorothy Waring. The playing field is named in memory of long serving councillor Lettie Margaret Spencer.
Willaston Parish Council has had to close the playing field by an order made under the Public Health (Control of Diseases) Act 1984. Playgrounds, sports courts and pitches have been ordered to close with immediate effect and Lettie Spencer Playing Field falls into this category.
The playing field is open and available for use throughout the year as per the following times as resolved by the council.

Willaston Parish Council owns allotments which are located on Crewe Road just a short distance from Wistaston Road and the Willaston boundary. These have been a Parish Council asset since 1925.
The allotments are a thriving community with local growers and gardeners tending a wide variety of plots.
We currently have just under 100 plots and the majority are occupied.
If you are interested in renting an allotment from the Parish Council then please contact the clerk who will be able to discuss availability and rates with you.
Willaston Parish Council is committed to maintaining this open space under a Dedication Agreement made in 1975. The Spinney consists of mature trees leading to a small wooded walk, wild flowers, seating provision, commemorative trees and open lawn.
