Lettie Spencer Playing Field
Willaston Parish Council owns and manages the playing field and has done so since 1952. The playing field was opened on 29th May 1954 by England and Manchester City goalkeeper Frank Swift and Rose Queen Dorothy Waring. The playing field is named in memory of long serving councillor Lettie Margaret Spencer.
After a period of closure the Lettie Spencer Playing Field re-opened on 20th May.
There are Covid-19 controls in place and the playground area and zip wire are not available for use. Whilst restrictions are in place the Playing Field will be open between the special hours of 9am and 7pm.
The Playing Field was closed on Sunday 28th June so that the playground area and zip line could be re-secured after they were damaged the previous day. The work required so that this area was compliant with legislation was completed and the Playing Field was back open on Monday 29th June
The playing field is open and available for use throughout the year as per the following times as resolved by the council.

Willaston Parish Council owns allotments which are located on Crewe Road just a short distance from Wistaston Road and the Willaston boundary. These have been a Parish Council asset since 1925.
The allotments are a thriving community with local growers and gardeners tending a wide variety of plots.
We currently have just under 100 plots and the majority are occupied.
If you are interested in renting an allotment from the Parish Council then please contact the clerk who will be able to discuss availability and rates with you.
Willaston Parish Council is committed to maintaining this open space under a Dedication Agreement made in 1975. The Spinney consists of mature trees leading to a small wooded walk, wild flowers, seating provision, commemorative trees and open lawn.
