The Willaston Charity Fund
Each year the Council appoints four of its members to act as trustees to the Wybunbury United Charities and Sarah Jane Wood Charity. The charities aims are to provide grants or gifts to residents who are experiencing hardship. The Willaston share of the charities funds are distributed through the Willaston Charity Fund. Legible households must demonstrate they are experiencing hardship and must fall within the historic Township of Willaston boundary as defined below.

Willaston Charity – Covid Relief Fund (September 2021)
We are delighted to confirm that the Willaston Charity Fund (part of Wybunbury United Charities) has distributed £1,600 of funds to families in the village as part of a Covid-19 relief fund which was set up in May 2020 to give support to households who were under pressure because of the pandemic. Grants of up to £200 were available for those who met the application criteria.
Cllr Craig Bailey and Cllr Keith Ward are the administrating trustees who set up the fund and awarded the grants. They said: “We were aware that as a direct result of Covid-19, there could be many residents and their families who face tough financial pressures, so we felt that setting up a fund for our community would be a positive way of making a difference locally with the money the charity has for Willaston”.
